Grand Hotel goes Green
Grand Hotel and Apartments has taken a significant step towards a more sustainable future with the installation of 356 solar panels, now generating approximately 30% of the property’s total energy needs.
Delivered by Green Energy Technologies, the system has been designed to maximise efficiency while reducing the hotel’s environmental impact. This investment supports our commitment to lowering emissions and operating more responsibly within Queensland’s tourism sector.
This project was proudly supported by the Queensland Government through the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation as part of its Tourism Resilience initiatives. We thank the Minister and the Queensland Government for their ongoing support in helping businesses transition to cleaner energy and supporting our industry to be more resilient in times of need.
Having experienced the impacts of severe weather events and flooding in our region, we understand how important resilience is for both our business and the wider community. This solar investment is not only about sustainability—it’s about ensuring we can continue to operate and support our guests and community during disruptions such as power outages. We are proud to be taking a step that strengthens our resilience while contributing to a cleaner energy future.” Troy Scott General Manager, Grand Hotel and Apartments
This initiative marks an important milestone as we continue to explore opportunities to improve sustainability and reduce our environmental impact.
